The birthday party...

Yesterday was a great day- at school. I got 95% on my music test, which is the best you can get at our school, our L.A. teacher was reading a poem and it was hilarious, I had a burger for lunch, I stayed in to play my clarinet, and we are doing Thriller for drama! As for after school, I was forced to go to my dad's, friend's, daughters' birthday party. In other words, go to a stranger's house and entertain myself with small talk with my brother. Or, in even simpler words- not have a productive Friday.

We had to leave around 5:30-6:00 PM, so before that time I was begging my parents to just let me stay home. Of course it did not work. So, at around 5 o'clock I was sent upstairs to (indignantly) change my clothes into something party-like and whatnot. I ended up wearing a lot of black. It just goes to show how I felt about the whole thing. Anyway, by the time I finished getting dressed, everyone had just begun, so I read a book and finished it in the time slot given to me. Alright, it was a picture book, but does it really matter? When my parents got dressed we got in the car, only to have me realize that my brother was still at his friend's house from the afternoon. Oops. I had to run to the next street and get him. Since we were edging towards being late, we decided my brother's  clothes were fine. On the way their my brother and I both sulked because we honestly would rather be home organizing our closets (goes to show how much of a social life we have)- though my parents would not have it. When we got their and my parents rang the doorbell, I made a last-second attempt to run, but the shoes I was wearing (heels...) did not permit me to do so, so I just stood there and tried to look like I was not forced to be here. My brother on the other hand laughed at me when I almost fell.

When someone finally opened the door after what seemed like an hour, I had one look and saw that every single kid there was under the age of 9. You can imagine how happy I was... Once we went inside the birthday girls' mom ushered my brother and I to the kitchen to eat pizza. I do not want to sound rude, but some people have very interesting choices for suitable pizza toppings. This particular pizza had tomatoes, garlic, ginger, hot and sweet peppers, black and green olives, mushrooms, pineapple, and sun dried tomatoes on it. In others words, the epitome of deluxe pizza. Luckily, there was no pepperoni on top of that, probably because the people hosting and attending the party (aside from my family and this other boy) were not allowed to eat pork (they were Muslim).

After trying to get through our slices of pizza my brother and I found that no one was sitting in the living room- so that is where we sat and I watched him play his DSi. I tried asking if I could play, but he said no. We sat like that for a grand total of 5 seconds when the birthday girls' mom came and asked if we wanted to play "Pin the tail on the donkey", only it was not really a choice because she pushed us into the sweaty family room full to the brim with toddlers... There, while I was trying my best to not be seen, I noticed that there was a girl who looked more or less my age and a boy beside her who was noticibly younger, though because they were sitting next to me and I heard what they were saying, I realized that the boy was pretty mature for his age. In case you are wondering, they were not siblings- the boy was Italian and the girl was Muslim. When the game was finished (I did not get a turn!) the mom handed out gifts to everyone for playing and (even me) and I tried play darts with my brother- I got the bull's eye on the first shot and he did not get anything on the board. Instead, he got...

  • a lady's shoe
  • someone's plate of food
  • my leg
  • someone's head
The boy and the girl were playing beside us, but I did not say anything because I am like that... Anyway, after a very boring game of darts all the kids except my brother and I went upstairs. I was really bored so I sat in front of their bird's cage and watched 2 budgies sit there. This lasted for half an hour. After that my brother asked if we could go upstairs, and I, getting bored of the sitting birds, said yes.

When we got upstairs I went to the first room with kids in it and found that they were watching some movie with Hilary Duff in it- NEXT. In the next room I found the boy and the girl and walked in. First I kind of just sat there and then the girl asked my name. I introduced my brother and I and asked for her name. Her name was Aneisa and the boy's name was Chi Chi. If you remember what I said before, he was Italian, so his name was short for Chico. They both met today. The boy, 9, said that they found something really weird on the computer and showed me, the girl sat their looking a little embarassed. They found out that the brother of the birthday girls' dad was looking at porn on his computer and the idiot did not know what "clearing your history" meant. It was disgusting so we all decided not to tell anyone about it. I later found out that the boy, Chi Chi has a brother who is "famous". Well, that is what Aneisa said. What she meant was, he is in a band and has his own website and youtube channel. The name of the band was Night of the Snake. Their website URL is www.myspace.com/nightofthesnake. I should warn you though, their genre is screamo. If you go to the website, Chi Chi's brother is the first guy on the left. He is 20 and had a girlfriend who is 16. Personality or what? I asked him if he wanted to be in a band, and he said yes, but he has to wait until he is 12. Hopefully he picks another genre.

After that we watched a movie called Bloody Mary and tried to stop the little kids from coming in the room. After a while we got so fed up of the little kids we left and went to another room. Aneisa and I talked about our grad dresses (since she was also in grade 8 and is going to Jess's high school). Chi Chi and my brother played his DSi. Overall, in the end we had a lot more fun and if I remember anything else I will tell you. As for now, that is it.

Did you look the the website for the band? It defines "interesting...".

What the [very long string of profanities]???

Ghazal said...

And in coherent speech you mean...

Jessica said...

That was insanely creepy.

Ghazal said...

I felt the same way. How exactly do you sing screamo? Don't you scream it? Also, they make Linkin Park sound like classical music.

Jessica said...

You scream /some/ of it.

Ghazal said...

But that was...

Jessica said...

...terrible?

Ghazal said...

Um... yeah.

Jessica said...

His poor brother.

Ghazal said...

I know. I felt bad for his mom.

Jessica said...

Unless she's one of those moms who call it "creativity at work."
So I take it he was the other boy who could eat pork?

Ghazal said...

Who knows... Well, his brother was not there, but the kid was one of the people who could eat pork.

That's what I meant.
