I got my braces today

I am not in the mood for a long post because my mouth happens to be killing me, any guesses why? Yes! I got braces, 20 minutes ago in fact. Let me put this in a nutshell, my braces did not hurt while they were being inserted, but now, after getting home and living with them, they kill. Alright, so maybe that was a blatant hyperbole, but they do hurt, a lot. I have to brush after every meal, and yes that means taking a toothbrush to school. Yay...

For a description, I did not want anything too ostentatious so they are metallic with silver rubber bands.

Brush your teeth at SCHOOL?
You must have some really messed up braces, nobody else I know has to do that...or if they do they hide it well.
My sister said they don't hurt at all, so maybe it was the extractions?

Maybe the lady was a bit paranoid. Anyway, I didn't get the extractions today, those are a month from now. They didn't hurt when I got them, but they hurt a lot 2 hours after.

I still don't get why you're on your brother's name, and they're going to give you extractions while you have braces...
...Interesting.
I'm glad I can't get extractions.

Ghazal said...

Sorry, he was checking his email (he has a Gmail account) and he didn't log off, and I didn't realize he was still logged in when I commented. As for the extractions, that is what I said. What can't you get extractions? Are you a hemophiliac?

Jessica said...

Just hemoPHOBIC, but that's not why.
I've been told that you can only get extractions of baby teeth, and I don't have baby teeth, so my dentist won't take out any teeth.
Also, I don't have crowding, just an overbite, so it would be kind of pointless.

Ghazal said...

I don't have any baby teeth either, so I have a feeling this is going to be extremely painful.

Jessica said...

:(
Ouch, that sucks.

Ghazal said...

I know, it does. But on another hand I am extremely excited because this is the first time I am getting to use any type of anesthetic and I am painfully interested.

Jessica said...

xD
Tell them to use laughing gas, the needles apparently are hell.

Ghazal said...

Really? If I am given a choice I will pick the laughing gas.

Jessica said...

Good.
Needles=chance of pain
Laughing gas=not possible.

And of course if your dentist is like Jameson they'll just knock you out.

Ghazal said...

I've never been knocked out before... I wonder if you really get that "out of body" experience...

Jessica said...

Nope, it's like sleeping except when you wake up you don't feel any more well-rested. When you faint, you get a bit of that experience though...I wouldn't recommend it.
I speak from experience :)

they hurt at first, but it stops hurting later

Ghazal said...

I hope so, because they kill right now.

Jessica said...

Well you can't really live 2 years of your life on nothing but yogurt :)

Ghazal said...

I know, but I don't know how to chew with these on.

Jessica said...

You open your mouth, then you close your mouth :)

OK, but really, you probably should at least try, or else your jaws will get stiff and all that.

Ghazal said...

I know, I did try, but my mouth is just too sore. Cut me some slack, I only got them yesterday. Compare getting over the pain, to getting over the break (on a clarinet), it will happen eventually, but I am still waiting.

Jessica said...

Getting over the break..
YOU MEAN YOUR BRACES SQUEAK!?!?

:D
As you can tell I haven't been in a mature mood recently.

Ghazal said...

I know. Naruto must be leaving quite the impression on you.

TeamMudkipAwesome said...

I have 2 episodes left on naruto to finish season 3 :D.

niey , now i don't want braces

Jessica said...

It's only fanfiction, I won't watch it unless my dad gets the whole series so I don't have to change the Youtube video every 5 minutes.
I still want braces. I literally have issues keeping my mouth fully closed, and people notice :(

TeamMudkipAwesome said...

YOUTUBE!?! SRSLY!?! WTF?
XDD sorry small freak out.
go to the websites not youtube XD never go to youtube to watch a tv series XD

Ghazal said...

How could you possible want to have a mouth full of metal?

Anonymous Jameson said...

Yay! Now we have another addition to our little party of torture.
Good luck with the braces. The pain'll wear off... for a while, until you get your tooth extracted or you get your braces tightened.
And choose laughing gas, although it'll be probably the worst smell you've ever inhaled.

Jessica said...

xD Well see the problem, Matt, is that the websites are all like "You can only watch 50.4397435345hjiuy493 minutes of video," and that just doesn't work.
@Ghazal Well have you SEEN my overbite?

Ghazal said...

Thanks Jameson, the pain is tolerable today, but I am afraid the numbness won't last. The extractions are a month away along with the tightening. I will pick laughing gas.

@Jessica: I've never noticed it.

Jessica said...

You must be crazy :P

Anonymous Jameson said...

I've never noticed it either, so maybe no one cares except you.
Or maybe it's just us.

Ghazal said...

I pick the first option. It makes us look like better friends. So Jameson, long time no talk buddy, where have you been?

Kanishkan said...

Did you play the diabolical box yet.

Ghazal said...

That was a question right? Where is the question mark Kanishkan?

Jessica said...

It ran away, as Jameson would say.
OK,fine, YOU don't notice, but I'm sure that when my friends in grade five told me I had buck teeth, that they probably NOTICED...

Ghazal said...

They were immature, all kids are immature in grade five. Don't sweat it.

Jessica said...

xD
The point is that it's definitely THERE. And I don't like it.
Like I said, I literally can't close my mouth. And the fact that I can click my jaw is SO annoying.

Anonymous Jameson said...

@Ghazal: More or less all summer I've either been at camp, going on "family vacations" or being addicted on DS.
@Kanishkan: Not yet.
And I agree with Ghazal.
At least you don't have to eat nothing but yogurt for a week.

Jessica said...

Yay, family vacations. Like today I have to go to the CNE. Do I want to? Hell no.
xD I like yogurt. And soup. And blended ice cream(durr, why haven't you people thought of this?). Pretty much like my sister when she gets an extraction.

Ghazal said...

But the chill of the ice cream is not pleasant when your mouth feels like someone is yanking your teeth out with a pair of barbeque tongs!

Jessica said...

Pfft, I'll get over it.

Ghazal said...

I am sure.

My poor darling! I pray the mean girls at school leave you alone!

Jokes apart, braces can be a bitch. I know people who've suffered much under both the social and physical anguish that they bring about. There is an interesting insight I bring for you, though: a friend who recently got her tongue pierced likened that experience to getting braces. I honestly don't know how that works, but at least you have a point of reference in case you do decide something of the kind in the future.

XOXO

Jessica said...

-pictures Ghazal with a tongue piercing-
I'm sure none of you can imagine the look on my face.

TeamMudkipAwesome said...

@Jess
XDDDDD you would not believe how hard i started laughing trying to picture that! XDD

Ghazal said...

Thanks for the prayer, I have a feeling I will need it. As for the tongue piercing bit, I don't think that is going to happen any time soon, and by soon I mean in this lifetime. Even if I somehow lost my senses, took crystal meth and put it in a whiskey and was compelled to drink it, I don't think that would happen. And the fact that if I ever mentioned the idea to my parents, I would get kicked out that second, doesn't provide the motivation for me to mutilate my body in such a way.

@Jessica: First you think I am going to become some sort of gangster, and now... pierced?

You know, one of the weirdest parts of having braces is the fact that whenever anyone sees them for the first time, they say "Oh my gosh! They suit you! There is no difference!" to which I think, Does that mean you always thought of me as a dork with a mouth full of wires?

Jessica said...

No, no, no! It was a look of sheer horror, the likes of which, like I said, you cannot even begin to imagine.

Jessica said...

Although if you want me to think of it that way, I'd be more than happy to :)
-reminds self to tell Kanishkan and Derek-

Ghazal said...

No! Please don't!

TeamMudkipAwesome said...

:o

/ meobeys the Ghazal!

/me needs to pee btw

Jessica said...

Oops, too late...

Ghazal said...

Thanks Caulin, but I doubted Jessica would, and I was right, she told them. -.-

Jessica said...

Actually, I didn't.

Ghazal said...

Then why did you say "Oops, too late..."?

Jessica said...

When you said "no," I meant "too late I was already under the impression you wanted me to."

Ghazal said...

Oh, why would I want that?

Jessica said...

Because I said "Although if you want me to think of it that way, I'd be more than happy to :)"
Because you were the one who gave me the idea.

Ghazal said...

No I didn't! You are taking words out of my mouth!

Jessica said...

You did too give me the idea! You reminded me of the gangster thing! And who started that? Derek and Kanishkan!

Ghazal said...

But it was purely unintentional!

Jessica said...

That doesn't mean it didn't happen!

Ghazal said...

But it was not my intent!
