Tomorrow is the day

Tomorrow is the day we got to Stratford to watch "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Festival Theatre. I honestly can't wait. I have been eager to go there since the teacher told us about it at the beginning of the year and I simply can not fathom the fact that the trip is tomorrow. We will be leaving at 8:30 AM and will be coming back at around 6:30 PM. For those of you who are wondering, this is the same Stratford-Upon-Avon where Shakespeare himself was born. I can freely say this will be an honour, though alas I am the only one who feels that way. All my other friends and classmates claim Shakespeare is... boring. They say he was "on crack" when writing his plays and call him a "psychopath who loved dogs". I admit, Shakespeare was found of furry mutts, but to call him a psychopath? That is simply out of proportion. He was a legend. He is a legend. His plays give us crucial keys into life in the Elizabethan era and his language is simply musical. The iambic pentameter was a marvelous device and the sign of a true literature enthusiast. Shakespeare and many others like Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie, and the Bronte sisters have played a quintessential role in the development of literature and whatever we have today is dedicated to them. Many of my favourite books like, "Oliver Twist", "A Tale of Two Cities", and "The Count of Monte Cristo" are not even given a glance by some of my peers, but I encourage everyone to have a look. The deaths of these great writers was both a great loss, and great gain in the name of literature.

On a side note, today was the day of my parent-teacher interview and my mom, being a typical brown parent, insisted on seeing every teacher (including my gym teacher). All of my teachers said I was doing very well though I need to bring my average up in business. It is currently sitting at 85%.

Lastly, remember those cousins I told you guys about a long time ago? The ones who are always copying my family and asking about my grades/marks? Well they moved about a month ago, and as a result the boy and I go to separate schools. Since I am in a special program I go to another school and since he didn't sign up for anything he goes to the local high school. I thought my problems with him were finally over, until I overheard his parents talking to my mom on the phone. Apparently they are thinking of sending him to my school next year... They believe he will get a better education at my school, though the truth is, I could have dropped out and started serving burgers at McDonald's and they still would have copied me. I feel so violated...

Pertaining to my homework/tests, I have a major Shakespeare test on Monday (which I will study for this weekend) and an ergonomics project due on Monday- which I will also do on the weekend.

Well, I wrote half-a-paper on hallucinogens in 'Midsummer..'. In fact, I should probably send you the paper I wrote on 'constructing a dream' via 'Midsummer..'. It is a wonderful play, and a good one to start with. I really hope the performance manages to capture the raunchier subtleties of the play! It's quite a riot!

You should! I would love to read it! Another fellow Shakespeare lover- how could I not want to read it? We did manage to go through the movie in class- though it was a lot more... sexy than the play. A lot of kissing, nudity, and sex. I really hope the play covers the meaning of the original script.

Okay, I'd totally send it to you, but I don't know how.

" this is the same Stratford-Upon-Avon where Shakespeare himself was born"
Please allow me to remind you that Shakespeare was not Canadian. He ewas born in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England, and surely if you're coming back at 6:30 you aren't going to England!
Though I am terribly jealous.

Also, all geniuses are psychopaths on some sort of drug. It just IS that way.

I definitely do not share your taste in literature. Classics are boring. I never even liked Lord of the Rings(what happens in that, anyways?)

Yes, what I meant to say was that it was dedicated to him. I suppose I was intoxicated by the thoughts of attending a real Shakespeare reenactment.

@GossipGuy: Perhaps you could make it a blog post and I could read it there?
