Forget "Heroes" and "24"

For those of you who do not know, Heroes and 24 are some soap operas which air here in North America. For a while I was hooked on both, but after the show I saw last night, these shows have just lost their spot on my busy schedule. The show I saw was funny, serious, violent, racist, wrong, profane, and good at the same time. Have you guessed yet? Erm no, Degrassi is not it and it is not Doctor Who either- sorry Micah. Let me give you another hint, it is about cops. That narrows it down quite a bit doesn't it? Well, let me give you a few you can rule off. It is not CSI or CSI: Miami/New York, it is a soap opera so it can not be Prison Break. Any other guesses? Anyone, anyone? Yes, you in the red shirt! No, it is not Flashpoint... Alright, alright, since you guys are dying to know, it is Southland. I always see the commercials for it when I watch American Idol, so when I saw it's name on the trusted TV Guide, I wasted no time seeing what it was about. I loved the idea. It is about a rookie cop who just got out of "The Academy" (Ben Sherman) and he tries to see if it really is the best job for him. He resides in L.A. and sees junkies and gang-bangers all the time. It is created by the same guy who made ER which kind of tells you how good it is. The episode I saw was regarding his first day on the job. He vomited when he saw a dead body, and got called "Canadian" by his co-workers for not laughing at a stupid joke. In other words, as good as it gets.
